Motivational Interviewing is a counseling method that uses collaborative conversation to motivate change. It is designed to explore a person's own reasons for change in order to strengthen their motivation. The approach is handled in an accepting, compassionate setting that avoids confrontation and adversary in an attempt to motivate a person to set a foundation for change.
We are individuals who work in Texas correctional communities who wish to combine our collective resources and skill sets to assist in building and sustaining the effective use of Motivational Interviewing (MI) among those who are in the Texas correctional system, which includes Adult and Juvenile Community Supervision (Probation) as well as those who are incarcerated.
